Children under 11

Children under 11 travel free on London public transport (TfL).

They must nevertheless have the card 5-10 Zip Oyster photocard or be accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.

Children from 11 to 15 years old

For children aged 11 to 15 there is the 11-15 ZIP Oyster photocard.

With this card, their bus and tram journeys are free and they benefit from preferential rates on the metro and train.

Children aged 16 to 17

For children from 16 to 17 years old, there is the card 16+ ZIP Oyster photocard.

With this card, they benefit:

  • adult rate discounted at 50% for their journeys by bus, tram, metro and train
  • free bus and tram rides if they are London residents and full time students

If your child is 18 on August 31 - is a London resident and a full-time student - they are eligible for the 16+ ZIP Oyster photocard

The subscription to the ZIP Oyster photocard is done only through the Internet.
