If your child is 18 but was 17 on August 31 of the current year - is a London resident and full-time student - they are eligible for the 16+ ZIP Oyster photocard.
If your child is 16 but was 15 on August 31 of the current year, they are also eligible for the 11-15 Zip Oyster photocard.
This card makes a different noise than the classic Oyster card at the pointing terminals. By traveling with a ZIP Oyster photocard that is not yours you risk a £80 fine + cancellation of rights and a withdrawal of the card for the real subscriber.
