History of Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi

A pioneer of water parks in Saudi Arabia, Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi was opened in January 2013 and quickly became famous for its unique slides and attractions.

Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi has been developed by Aldar Properties and backed by Blackburn Share Holdings - in conjunction with water park design and construction company WhiteWater West - on 15 hectares of land and cost the sum of 900 million dirham.

It is inspired by the history and culture of the United Arab Emirates and is the first water park in the Middle East to be certified with the Estidama One Pearl sustainability rating.

The park has also hosted the World Flowboarding Championships since it opened in 2013.
