Structura are o înălțime de 135 de metri, iar roata are un diametru de 120 de metri (394 ft). Când s-a deschis publicului în 2000, era cea mai înaltă roată din lume. London Eye oferea cel mai înalt punct de vizionare public din Londra până când a fost înlocuit de puntea de observație de 245 metri înălțime de la etajul 72 al The Shard, care a fost deschisă publicului la 1 februarie 2013.
