Do subways, buses, trams and trains run on December 24, 25, 26 and 31?

For the end of the year 2018 holidays, the London transport service (TfL) is observing some changes compared to its usual functioning:

  • December 24: the frequency of DLR buses and trains is reduced from 8 p.m.
  • December 25: no metro, bus, tram or train is running
  • December 26:
    • buses, subways and trams run normally
    • the London Overground and TfL Rail services trains do not run
  • December 31 / January 1: on New Year's Eve, transport is exceptionally free from 11:45 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

From Saturday December 22, 2018 to Tuesday January 1, 2019, the frequency and times of subways, buses, trams and trains may also be changed.

In the UK, Christmas Day (December 25), Boxing Day (December 26) and New Years (January 1) are public holidays (bank holidays).
