Join the French Algerian literary sensation, Faïza Guène who will be in conversation with her translator, Sarah Ardizzone to discuss her new novel, Discretion. Faiza’s debut novel, Kiffe Kiffe Demain was published when she was just 19 and sold 400,000 copies in France and has been translated into over 30 languages. Often compared to Zadie Smith and Monica Ali, Kiffe Kiffe Demain established Faïza as one of the most important literary voices of her generation.
Set between Paris today and 1950s Algeria, Discretion tells a story that rarely gets told or heard – the experience of the Algerian women, wives and mothers who immigrated to France after Algerian independence, and how they coped with living between two cultures.
Please note, this event will be in English.
