Join us for what promises to be a very special evening of conversation with Emilie Pine, as she speaks to Octavia Bright about her much-anticipated debut novel Ruth & Pen.
Tender-hearted and imbued with the same candid compassion as her acclaimed essay collection Notes to Self, Emilie’s exquisite fictional debut traces the rich inner and outer lives of two Dublin women across a single day. Deeply involving, poignant and radiantly intelligent, it is a portrait of the limits of grief and love, of how we navigate our inner and outer landscapes, and the tender courage demanded by the simple, daily quest of living.
Emilie is a Professor of Modern Drama at the School of English, Drama and Film, University College Dublin. She will be in conversation with Octavia Bright, writer and co-host of the Literary Friction podcast.
