M&M’S® World

The Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4

We were first approached by Network Rail to open a shop in 2010, due to the popularity King’s Cross Station and Platform 9¾ had with fans of the series since their first appearances in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. It was to be the first ever Harry Potter Shop to open anywhere in the world outside of a themed visitor attraction. An area was reserved next to Platforms 9 and 10 during a major redevelopment of the Station where the store is now located. Once construction was completed, Warwick Davis (who played Professor Flitwick and Griphook in the film series) opened the doors to the shop on December 14th 2012. During the first three years of the store being open, the shop next door became vacant and we began the extension of Platform 9¾ which was then completed and opened in December 2015. Since opening the store in King’s Cross Station, we have opened additional Harry Potter Shops in Heathrow Terminal 5 and Gatwick’s North Terminal. Every year The Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9¾ welcomes over 1.2 million visitors. Whether they are Muggles or first time Hogwarts students getting their photo taken at our famous trolley, The Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9¾ has become a must see destination for fans of the books and films.

LEGO® Store

The LEGO Group’s (that’s us!) story is a rather nice and simple one we think. Our Founding Father, Ole Kirk Kristiansen, was a master carpenter and joiner. In 1932, he began to manufacture toys for sale in Billund, Denmark and from then on the LEGO brand was born! The world-famous LEGO Brick didn’t make an appearance until a little later on in the 50’s. Since then, we’ve brought various toys, play experiences and teaching materials to over 130 countries. Did you know that on average, every person on this planet owns 80 LEGO bricks? That’s a whole lotta bricks and we’re pretty happy about that! It also means that we’re the 4th largest manufacturer of play materials in the whole entire world, probably in the entire Galaxy!
