This summer, The Nest Collective invites you to discover extraordinary music around the campfire.
Every week from May to September, we gather in beautiful green spaces under city skylines and listen to amazing music by artists from all over the world.
We come together in the simple way that people have done for thousands of years, around the fire with food, drink, music and each other. The performances are unamplified, allowing you to get up close and personal and hear the artists’ music in a very intimate way.
What the audience said:
"This event was phenomenal. I cannot wait until I attend another one… the musicians were something else. I certainly didn't feel as though I was in Peckham, but some enchanted woodlands" - Design My Night
“Walking into a wonderland of nature with beautiful music and people, it made me feel wonderfully elated.” - Jane S
“What a magical gig! Sat around a campfire in the beautiful @Glengall_Garden as the sun sets listening to @JGhedi & @PiersFaccini. Lovely lovely lovely @NestFolk #Peckham #CampfireClub” - @showmethemunny
“The atmosphere was incredible, I knew I would love the music but I loved the atmosphere just as much.” - Anon
“Beautiful magical evening with #CampfireClub such a wonderful idea for unamplified performance around a campfire” - @soryahh
Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith
Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith are one of the most celebrated duos to have emerged onto the British folk and acoustic scene in recent years. Their combination of outstanding vocal work, sensitive instrumentation, and a powerful social conscience has brought them widespread critical acclaim.
"To be a great folk singer, you have to be a great storyteller, as Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith are clearly aware. The duo are both fine singers and multi-instrumentalists." – The Guardian
The songs themselves are always given centre stage but they are brought to life with stunning musical arrangements and vocals. There is an integrity that shines through their performances and a common thread of political struggle, resistance, and justice.
Their third album, ‘Many a Thousand’ was released in September 2018 to widespread critical acclaim, receiving 5 star reviews in Songlines Magazine, Froots Magazine, and the Morning Star.
Chloe Foy writes a brand of melodic, homegrown music, bursting with colourful lyrical and textural inflections evocative of much of the music she loves. Taking inspiration from classical music as much as wider transatlantic trends in folk and indie, Chloe’s songs comprise of carefully constructed arrangements that delicately compliment her cryptic lyrics.
With her strikingly beautiful voice and emotionally direct songwriting, Chloe looks set to have an exciting 2019, with a debut album in the pipeline, a headline spring tour and a string of major festival appearances already confirmed. Chloe is supported by the PRS Momentum Fund.
