Walking Tour - Jack the Ripper Retold - Leadenhall

Waterstones Leadenhall invite you on a special walking tour that places the women of the Jack The Ripper story centre stage.

With a strong feminist angle and inspired by our February Non Fiction Book of the Month, Hallie Rubenhold's The Five, Waterstones Leadenhall invite you on a special walking tour that places the women of the Jack The Ripper story centre stage.

Lead by Katie Wignall, join us as we discover the lives of Polly, Annie, Kate, Liz and Mary Jane and hear stories of inspiring East End women past and present. This isn't a tour about murder or death. It's about 19th century life and the real stories of the women behind the myths and hysteria.

This is a chance to hear about the real women behind the glorified vision of ‘Jack’, visiting the streets they would’ve known and seeing the physical reminders in an area that has changed almost beyond recognition. The walk will concentrate on women’s lives rather than their murders and aims to inspire you with the stories of brave and brilliant East End women, past and present.

This special event includes the 90 minute walking tour and a copy of 'The Five' by Hallie Rubenhold.
