Join two of today’s most exciting novelists, Rumaan Alam and Kiley Reid, as they discuss race, parenthood and the power of fiction in examining the world we live in now.
Kiley Reid exploded into 2020 with her debut novel Such A Fun Age. Smart and funny, exploring race, motherhood, friendship and transactional relationships, Such A Fun Age was an instant Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller, was longlisted for the 2020 Booker Prize and has already been heralded as ‘The Book of the Year’ (Independent).
Rumaan Alam is shortlisted for the National Book Award with his third novel, Leave the World Behind, touted as the ‘signature novel for this blasted year’ (NPR) and ‘the fall’s biggest novel’ (Entertainment Weekly). Keenly attuned to the complexities of parenthood, race and class, Leave the World Behind explores how our closest bonds are reshaped in moments of crisis - and how the most terrifying situations are never far from reality.
This is a rare opportunity to join two writers in one of the most relevant conversations of our times.
