Waterstones are delighted to welcome one of our greatest living novelists, Maggie O’Farrell, to Hoxton Hall to discuss her lyrically written and emotionally devastating Hamnet.
Hamnet is the heart-stopping story behind Shakespeare’s most famous play. Inspired by the son of a famous playwright, it is the story of the bond between twins, and of a marriage pushed to the brink by grief. A flea, a glovemaker’s son, a kestrel and its mistress all contribute to this tender and unforgettable reimagining of a boy whose name was given to one of the most celebrated plays ever written.
‘Grief and loss so finely written I could hardly bear to read it’ – Sarah Moss
Maggie O’Farrell will be in conversation with theatre director and writer Dominic Dromgoole. Dromgoole was the Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London from 2006-2016 before penning Hamlet Globe to Globe, which recounts experiences from the global tour of Hamlet.
