CANCELLED - Good Friday Concert - Faure Requiem Performed by the Southwark Cathedral Girls' Choir and Lay-Clerks

During this Holy Week join us at Southwark Cathedral on Good Friday for The Cathedral Girls' Choir and the Gentlemen of the Choir singing a programme of Lenten Motets and the stunning Requiem by Faure.

Conducted by Stephen Disley

Southwark Cathedral has boasted a fine Choir of boys and men for many years, greatly enhancing the worship offered here, and giving pupils at day schools the opportunity to learn music in the unique English Cathedral tradition. Southwark Cathedral Girls’ Choir was formed in 2000, to enrich the Cathedral’s musical heritage, and to offer to girls the same opportunity for musical, spiritual and social development which the boys have enjoyed for so long.

The Southwark Cathedral Girls’ Choir is the only Anglican Cathedral Girls’ Choir in London.  The girls perform to an outstanding standard and is an established and cherished part of the life of the Cathedral, singing, like the Boys’ Choir, with the Lay Clerks.

The Girls' Choir is in demand for concerts and performances; since its inception it has undertaken six overseas tours, made three CD recordings, has been broadcast on BBC Radio Three and Songs of Praise, and performed at the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall.
