The Rose Playhouse was the fifth purpose built theatre in London and the first theatre on Bankside in the16th century. The site was developed by Philip Henslowe, and the principal actor at this theatre was Edward Alleyn, Henslowe's son in law, and soon to be founder of Dulwich College.
Linda will take you on a virtual walk, featuring areas in London connected with his life and with Elizabethan theatre in general. She will also talk about The Rose - where two of Shakespeare’s early plays were performed.
Linda Shannon is a volunteer at the Rose Playhouse on Bankside.
