Join us as we welcome debut author Lottie Hazell in conversation with Sophie Mackintosh to celebrate the release of Lottie's brilliantly realised and painfully relatable depiction of love, life and all the awkward bits in between.

Piglet examines the lies we tell ourselves — to appease our egos, to quieten our fears, and to make our secret bargains with the universe - asking what it means to be satisfied by our own deceptions, and what happens when we are not.

For Piglet, getting married is her opportunity to reinvent. And who could blame her, with a childhood nickname like that?

Together, Kit and Piglet are the picture of domestic bliss - effortless hosts, a covetable wedding...

But how do you tell people, when you’ve sent out the invites and told everyone you’ll be making the cake, that the fullness of your life has been a pretence, and that you are hungry for something more?

Lottie Hazell is a writer, contemporary literature scholar, and board game designer living in Warwickshire. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from Loughborough University and her research considers food writing in twenty-first century fiction. Piglet is her first novel.
