Chesters Roman Fort and Museum - Hadrian's Wall

Chesters Roman Fort housed around 500 cavalry troops for nearly 300 years, and the remains are still there to see more than a millennium and a half later. * Make sure to explore the grounds and see the elaborate foundations that mark the spot where the commandant's house once stood.
