Hakka Discovery Tour: 1-Day

Delve into a unique side of Taiwanese heritage, with a guided tour focused on Hakka culture. The tour starts with a railway ride from Hexing Station (also known as “Love Station”) to Zhudong Station. Before lunch, you will stop by Zhudong Cultural and Creative Park, an art exhibition location converted from an old staff dormitory. Then you will move to Zhudong Traditional Market, which is regarded as Taiwan’s largest Hakka market. Here, you have an opportunity to try three traditional Hakka snacks. Continue with a walking tour along Beipu Old Street, where many buildings which date back to the Qing dynasty and Japanese Colonial Era are still well preserved. Hakka people are widely known for their unique food culture, so don’t miss the chance to try the famous Lei Tea and pick up some fresh seasonal fruits, before return transport to your hotel in the late afternoon.
