Uncover Tenerife's economic and social history in a UNESCO-listed city
Visit the Cathedral of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, originally built in the 16th century as Parroquia de los Remedios, which became the cathedral seat in 1819. The structure was reconstructed in the early 20th century while keeping its Neoclassical facade from the initial design, classified as a cultural property since 1983. Inside, observe the Neo-Gothic high ribbed vaults and the ambulatory. The Baroque altarpiece of the Virgen de los Remedios and the Italian marble pulpit are key features, along with the remarkable treasury room holding significant art and artifacts.
