Osaka Ukiyo-e Museum

More info

The name may be unfamiliar, but you've almost definitely seen Ukiyo-e art before: on restaurant walls, for sale at print stores, or on art-inspired clothing and other items. The art form is visually symbolic of traditional Japanese culture, and Osaka's Ukiyo-e Museum features some of the most accomplished woodblock prints, a style which flourished between 1603 and 1868. See beautiful pieces depicting everything from typical Japanese landscapes and nature, to sumo wrestling and courtesans!
