Traditional Japanese Weaving Workshop at KOHO Nishiki Textile Studio

Visit the KOHO Nishiki Textile Studio and weave a piece of Nishiki-ori (a Kyoto silk brocade woven with gold, silver, and multi-colored threads) yourself. The KOHO Nishiki Textile Studio undertakes thorough research and restoration on precious ancient Nishiki textiles and traditional weaving techniques to recreate the luxurious fabrics from the past. During this workshop you’ll weave a brocade silk fabric of about 18cm square, following in the tradition of the artisan Koho Tatsumura, a master of Nikishi whose textiles are akin to weaving light.
