The monumental complex of the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista is the result of numerous architectural movements that show the succession of various architectural styles. The Museo Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista is an architectural complex consisting of the Scuola building, the Church of the same name, the old cemetery, and the two external campielli. Still the seat of the lay confraternity founded in 1261, it spreads over two floors and is the result of different architectural styles, from Gothic and Renaissance to Baroque. On the ground floor you can admire the lapidarium and numerous paintings by Venetian artists commissioned by the Scuola itself over the centuries, including Palma il Giovane, Tintoretto and Tiepolo.
