More info

Take a journey through time with a tour of Villa Sigurtà, the luxurious summer home of the Maffei Counts in the 17th century. Standing proud since the early 1690s, the villa has played host to illustrious personalities including emperors Franz Joseph I of Austria and Napoleon III of France, Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain, King Constantine of Greece, Prince Charles of England, and a number of Nobel laureates. During your tour you'll have access to a number of key locations in the villa, including: the veranda which has been frescoed with Savoy knots; the monumental staircase; the loggia (gallery) containing impressive frescoes; the central hall; the Imperial alcove; the hunting hall and more. Everywhere you look, you'll find rare furniture, works of art, and photos. After exploring the villa, make your way to the gardens and the Maffei Nymphaeum, an amphitheater of pools.
