Templar Complex of San Bevignate

Perugia, the capital of Umbria, is home to the magnificent Templar Complex of San Bevignate. The Knights Templar were a Catholic military order founded in 1119. They were known for being the elite fighting force of their day and they left behind a pretty impressive legacy, including frescoes dating back to the 1260s. Also see the Roman ruins below the medieval church of San Bevignate, which date back to the first century BC. Access is included in the admission to the church.
