Barletta Castle is representative of the constant flux of power the area experienced over the centuries. Originally a castle for the Normans, it was later updated by the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II during the 13th century, and finally there was more work done by the House of Anjou and Charles V in the 16th century. * During your visit, you'll be able to walk the walls of the fortress, journey beneath the castle, and see rare finds in the museum. The museum houses a number of artifacts of great value, including a stone bust of Frederick II of Swabia, relics of the Risorgimento, and a flag of the IX Garibaldi Regiment.
