The Children's Railway Ride + Picnic

Be whisked away on a scenic journey through the beautiful landscapes of the Duna-Ipoly National Park, with a ride on the special Children's Railway. What makes this railway so special is that it's entirely operated by children aged 10 to 14, under adult supervision of course! * Arriving at the panoramic viewpoint, Normafa, 500 meters above the city, enjoy some typical Hungarian strudel in a scenic open-air restaurant. A private van will pick you up, and take you back to the city. * The railway was built in the 1940s as a way to give kids practical experience in running a railway. Locals rode it, too. The 11-kilometer route winds through lush forests, over bridges, and past quaint villages, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Along the way, you'll hear announcements made by the children conductors, who also collect tickets and offer a fascinating glimpse into the railway's history and operations. * A must-do in Budapest!
