More info

The Carnavalet Museum tells the story of Paris in an updated space that retains the charm of the original building in historic Marais. Designed as an authentic journey into the past and present of Paris, the new route (built for the first time according to a continuous chronological thread) reveals the greatest historical treasures from prehistory to the present day. 3,800 works are presented in a redesigned scenography, with 60% of the works exhibited having not been shown previously. Paintings, sculptures, pieces of furniture, woodwork, works of art, objects of history and memory, signs, photographs, drawings, prints, posters, models, medals, coins, archeology collections... see the history of Paris in a unique way that stays true to the past and sentimental to Parisians.
