Labeled as a Grand Site de France, the Puy de Dôme is the highest – and youngest – of the 80 volcanoes that have erupted in the Chaîne des Puys region. To get to the top of the 1,465-meter-high volcanic dome, you'll take an electric train that runs on a rack railway. The Panoramique des Dômes will take you to the top in 15 minutes while spiralling around the mountain and giving you breathtaking views of the nearby volcanoes. * At the top, you'll be greeted with unobstructed views of the Chaîne des Puys – Limagne Fault.
