La Cité de la Mer

Located in the former transatlantic maritime station, La Cité de la Mer is the first Norman tourist site dedicated to the adventures of man at sea and the depth of the emotions that accompany them.

Visit three floors of spectacular media spaces and dazzling aquariums, and enjoy many unique exhibits. Relive the last hours of the Titanic and soak up the atmosphere that reigned on board, enter the Redoutable, the largest visitable submarine in the world, discover the Océan du Futur and explore the last wild spaces on the planet.

Be sure to visit the Art Deco auditorium for a film screening where you can discover the Normandy coast and hear about the importance of Cherbourg during the liberation of Europe with a film that covers the first 20 days following the Battle of Normandy in 1944.
