National Palace of Culture

The National Palace of Culture is Sofia's focal point, with a long, tree-lined promenade stretching towards an imposing Communist-era building. With a mix of Communist and Modernist architecture, and a short history full of intriguing stories, the National Palace of Culture is well worth a guided look around. As well as hosting large events like concerts, festivals, and a popular New Year's Eve extravaganza, the Palace is home to 80 monumental works of art located in the halls and foyers, which you'll learn all about through a guided or audio-narrated tour.
